Tipping

In Countries like Senegal & Gambia, tipping is more than just a gesture of appreciation; it's a crucial support to the local economy and a meaningful way to acknowledge the hard work and dedication of those who help make our trip memorable. The service staff, from drivers to restaurant servers, often go above and beyond to ensure we have an exceptional experience. In a country like Senegal, where many locals depend on tourism for their livelihood, tips can significantly impact their well-being and ability to support their families.

Understanding this, we have established a collective tipping system to ensure fair and generous compensation for the services we receive. On the first day of our trip, we will collect a total of USD $250 from each participant. This amount is carefully calculated to cover all tipping needs throughout the week, including drivers, baggage handlers, , guides, and restaurant servers/staff etc .

This approach has several benefits:

1. Fair Distribution: It ensures that all service providers are fairly and adequately compensated for their efforts.

2. Convenience for Travelers: You won't have to worry about carrying change or figuring out the appropriate amount to tip for different services.

3. Solidarity and Support: It reflects our group's solidarity and support for the local community, recognizing the importance of their contributions to our travel experience.

By pooling our tips in this manner, we not only simplify the process for our guests but also make a meaningful contribution to the local economy. It's a way of saying 'thank you' and giving back to the people who work tirelessly to make our stay in Rwanda a truly remarkable and unforgettable experience.

For guests traveling alone, Haitian Nomad offers the option to book double occupancy accommodations at a lower cost by sharing a room with another solo traveler. While we do our best to pair guests with a roommate of the same gender, we cannot guarantee same-gender pairings, as this depends entirely on the rooming mix of the group.

If you prefer not to share a room with someone of the opposite gender, we strongly recommend selecting the single occupancy option at the time of booking to ensure your privacy and comfort.

By selecting a double occupancy option, you acknowledge and accept that your roommate may be of a different gender if no same-gender pairing is available.

Our goal is to provide every guest with a comfortable and enjoyable experience — and having clarity about rooming expectations helps us do just that.

To ensure a comfortable and enjoyable journey, please select your accommodation type based on your personal comfort requirements and sleeping habits. Our aim is to provide a memorable and hassle-free travel experience for all our guests!

As we traverse the reserve, you’ll have the opportunity to observe these majestic animals in their natural habitat, with plenty of chances to take stunning photos and experience the thrill of an African safari.

Ancient Baobabs and History:

Bandia is not only about wildlife. The reserve is dotted with ancient baobab trees, some of which are believed to be centuries old. These iconic trees are a vital part of the African landscape and hold significant cultural and spiritual meaning. We’ll stop by a baobab tomb, where the remains of local chiefs were once laid to rest, giving you a glimpse into Senegal’s ancient history and traditions.

Lunch in Nature:

After a morning of wildlife viewing, we’ll enjoy a leisurely lunch at the reserve’s restaurant, which is situated in a peaceful setting with views of a waterhole, where animals often come to drink. As you dine on a mix of local and international cuisine, you may spot a giraffe or buffalo wandering nearby, adding to the magical atmosphere of the day.

Why You’ll Love It:

A day at Bandia Reserve is perfect for nature lovers and those seeking a deeper connection to Senegal’s natural beauty. It’s a wonderful opportunity to relax in a tranquil environment while experiencing the excitement of a safari. For parents, this is a chance to share a thrilling adventure with your family, while also learning about the importance of conservation and the rich biodiversity of West Africa.

This experience will leave you with a profound appreciation for Senegal’s wildlife and landscapes, making it a truly memorable part of your journey.
