About this trip

Vietnam is one of Southeast Asia’s most captivating destinations — a country where ancient traditions, dramatic landscapes, rich history, and modern energy exist side by side. From the buzzing streets of Hanoi to the lantern-lit charm of Hoi An, the emerald waters of Ha Long Bay, and the vibrant pulse of Saigon, this journey is designed to immerse you in the beauty, culture, flavors, and spirit of Vietnam in true Haitian Nomad fashion.

This is not a rushed “checklist” style tour. This experience is intentionally curated to balance luxury, culture, meaningful exploration, incredible food, and moments to simply slow down and enjoy where you are. Expect unforgettable scenery, immersive storytelling, beautiful hotels, curated group dinners, local encounters, and the kind of shared experiences that become lifelong memories.

Throughout the trip, we’ll explore Vietnam through multiple lenses — its history, resilience, architecture, cuisine, spirituality, creativity, and everyday life. One day may have us sipping Vietnamese coffee overlooking chaotic city streets, while the next finds us cruising through limestone karsts in Ha Long Bay or wandering through centuries-old alleyways illuminated by colorful lanterns.

Food will also be a major highlight of this journey. Vietnam is considered one of the world’s greatest culinary destinations, and we’ll experience everything from elevated local dining to iconic street food favorites, fresh seafood, vibrant herbs, rich broths, bánh mì, Vietnamese barbecue, tropical fruits, and unforgettable coffee culture.

As always with Haitian Nomad, the experience goes beyond sightseeing. This trip is about connection — to the destination, to the people, to the culture, and to each other. Whether you’re traveling solo, with friends, or as a couple, you’ll be joining a group of curious travelers looking for meaningful experiences, beautiful moments, and genuine community.

Optional Cambodia Add-On

For travelers wanting to extend the adventure, an optional Cambodia add-on to Siem Reap will be available after Vietnam. This offers the opportunity to experience the breathtaking temples of Angkor, including the world-famous Angkor Wat, while diving into Cambodia’s rich culture, history, cuisine, and warm hospitality OR the incredible culture and Unesco sites.

The Cambodia extension is designed to complement the Vietnam experience beautifully — adding another layer of Southeast Asia’s magic through sacred temples, luxury hospitality, cultural immersion, and unforgettable sunsets over ancient ruins.

This journey promises a beautiful blend of luxury, discovery, culture, relaxation, and unforgettable shared experiences across two extraordinary countries.

This journey is a feast for the senses. From slurping authentic phở on the streets of Hanoi to tasting Anthony Bourdain’s favorite bánh mì in Hoi An, every bite tells a story. You’ll enjoy curated culinary experiences, including a street food tour in Ho Chi Minh City and a private cooking class with a local chef.

🎨 Design, Photography & Architecture Lovers

Vietnam’s aesthetic is a dream for visual storytellers—colorful lanterns in Hoi An, the dramatic karsts of Ha Long Bay, bustling markets, and tranquil temples. The itinerary is crafted with plenty of time to soak in the scenery and capture the moments.

💃🏽 Curious, Open-Minded Explorers

This is for travelers who value connection and discovery—those who want to understand a country not just through landmarks, but through its people, traditions, flavors, and everyday rhythms.

Perfect for solo travelers, couples, or small groups seeking unforgettable experiences, this Vietnam journey is an elegant balance of adventure, relaxation, and authenticity.

If you value immersive travel that blends culture, comfort, cuisine, and unforgettable storytelling—this journey through Vietnam is designed for you.

Who This Trip is not for!

While this luxury journey through Vietnam offers unforgettable cultural experiences, comfort, and curated moments, it may not be the ideal fit for everyone. This trip is not for:

🚀 Travelers Seeking a Fast-Paced, Checklist Tour

If your goal is to race through as many cities and sights as possible in a short time, this itinerary may feel too relaxed. We prioritize immersive experiences and meaningful moments over rushing from landmark to landmark.

🍕 Picky Eaters or Those Unwilling to Explore Local Cuisine

Vietnamese food is a highlight of this journey—from street-side bánh mì to local delicacies in night markets. While dietary preferences can be accommodated, those unwilling to explore outside their comfort zone may miss a major part of the experience.

🎒 Backpackers on a Tight Budget

This is a luxury experience that includes 5-star accommodations, private transfers, curated excursions, and exclusive touches. Travelers looking for hostels, public transit, or ultra-budget options may find this trip misaligned with their expectations.

😴 Those Who Prefer All-Inclusive Resort Stays Only

If you prefer to stay in a single resort without venturing out, this trip—with its diverse stops, guided tours, cultural interactions, and hands-on activities—might not be your vibe.

⛔ Travelers Uncomfortable with Cultural Differences

Vietnam’s charm lies in its contrasts—from motorbike-filled streets to ancient temples and local customs. Travelers expecting Western-style experiences at every turn may find certain moments unfamiliar or challenging.

This journey is crafted for open-minded, curious individuals who appreciate comfort but also crave depth, authenticity, and a sense of wonder.

If you’re looking for a deeper connection to the places you visit, this experience will be nothing short of unforgettable. But if you’re seeking a basic beach vacation or fast-paced sightseeing blitz, this may not be the right fit.

Trip Activity level

Moderate Activity Level – Designed for Comfort & Exploration

This trip is best described as a moderate activity experience with a balanced pace that combines immersive sightseeing, cultural experiences, relaxation, and free time. While this is not an intense or physically demanding trip, guests should still be comfortable with being active throughout the day and navigating busy urban environments, airports, and walking tours.

Expect a mix of:

  • Guided city explorations

  • Walking through historic neighborhoods and markets

  • Navigating airports and hotels

  • Boarding boats/cruises

  • Occasional stairs and uneven surfaces

  • Warm and humid weather conditions

  • Full sightseeing days balanced with downtime

Most walking will be casual and spread throughout the day rather than long-distance hiking. However, cities like Hanoi, Hoi An, Saigon, and Siem Reap can involve crowded streets, lively traffic, uneven sidewalks, temple grounds, and periods of standing during tours.

The optional Cambodia extension to Siem Reap includes exploring the Angkor temple complex, which may involve additional walking, stairs, and exposure to heat and humidity.

This trip is ideal for travelers who:

  • Enjoy being out and exploring during the day

  • Can comfortably walk for extended periods with breaks

  • Appreciate cultural immersion and active sightseeing

  • Want a balanced itinerary that mixes adventure, luxury, food, and relaxation

This trip may NOT be ideal for travelers with:

  • Significant mobility limitations

  • Difficulty walking in hot/humid weather

  • Difficulty navigating stairs or uneven terrain

  • A preference for resort-only style vacations with minimal movement

As always with Haitian Nomad, we intentionally design our itineraries to prioritize comfort, pacing, and enjoyment — meaning you’ll experience a lot without feeling constantly rushed or exhausted.
